Abstract

MADEROVÁ, K.: Library in Krnov, Bachelor thesis, VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of civil engineering, Department of Architecture, 2016, 41 pages, Supervisor of the thesis : Ing, arch. Igor Krčmář The task of this thesis was the design of the building of the library, which is a part of the planned municipality of Krnov, located close to its center. The library is located near the Krnov synagogue and monastery of Minoritie. This library should replace the existing libraries and centralize them into one object. The resulting structure is a contrast to existing objects with used materials and shape, but doesn´t compete with them in the term of height. Emphasis was placed on the openness of the building into the surrounding gardens and the view from the library to the nearby sights. Glass facades allow the interior view of the monuments, and at the same time the glass will reflect surrounding objects.
