Abstract

The bachelor thesis deals with hardware and software for evaluating the status of the wheelchair. State of the wheelchair can be Its normal operating position (on wheels), or the state of overturn (on the side ...), with that the alarming situation is when Its overturned. The main device for measuring the tilt of the wheelchair is 3-axial accelerometer MMA7660FC from Freescale. It is a miniature accelerometer based on the MEMS technology. For processing the measured data and sending data to a computer microprocessor PAN4551 is used, from Panasonic too. I use ZigBee technologies for wireless communication between accelerometer and computer. This work should help in the health prevention and personal safety. It should help persons who, because of paralysis, illness, etc. ... are unable to walk and are dependent on a wheelchair. With the associated problems such as monitoring a wheelchair outside (if the person on the wheelchair did not overturn, fall ...)
