Abstract
The thesis analyses the economy of the Grammar School of Josef Kainar in Hlucin in the observed period 2010-2014. The theoretical part is focused on the public sector and the education as a branch of the public sector. The thesis outlines the system of the education in the Czech Republic, schools and school institutions, educational programs and funds of the education itself. Besides that the school monetary funds and the Education for Competitiveness Operational Programme are described. The practical part is focused on the analysis of the school in the particular years, on the main sources of the revenues and expenses, number of pupils, contracts of pedagogical and non-pedagogical staff. The outcome of the thesis is the evaluation of the economy in the observed period with the help of the method of comparison and analysis, where in 2012 a change in the school management and the expiration of study programs occurred, which resulted in the reduction of the number of students and dismissing of the school staff.
