Zhotovení plastiky Atlase podle vlastního uměleckého návrhu

Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with depicting of mythological character, who was forced to hold up the sky for his sins. It is the giant called Atlas. The Titan, who is often shown with the earth on his muscular nape. A wooden model was used to create this casting. A mold was made of organo-bentonite mixture. The aim of this work was to produce a hollow casting with cca 7mm thick wall using a core made of compound of plaster and clay in order to ensure that it would not be unnecessarily heavy, would have the best possible surface, and also that the metal would reliably copy even the smallest details.
