Annotation in English LAJGOT, M. MES Category Systems of Production Control. Ostrava: Department of Automation and Computing in Metallurgy, Faculty of Metalurgy and Materials Engineering, VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, 2010, Thesis, Thesis Supervisor Doc. Ing. Jiří David, Ph. D. This thesis deals with production control systems category MES. In the first part describes the structure and classification of the MES system in the understanding of the company, followed by a description of the software solution for MES system, together with a proposal for a hardware solution. The third part includes possibility of using the MES systems in the field of metallurgy. Specifically it is a solution for monitoring and locating plate crystallizer continuous casters. The final part of realizing the software application determines the parameters of individual boards. The application is developed in an environment of “Visual Basic” and uses the “Oracle” database.
