Abstract

This Doctoral thesis discusses the possibility of recovery of copper from copper blast furnace slag. There are treatment methods include slag from leaching and flotation. Subsequently, the process of leaching and flotation described. Are presented as individual leaching and flotation reagents. Also introduced genus Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans, which was used for leaching and flotation using bacteria. Leaching was carried out in the various solutions and under different conditions. Samples for chemical and bacterial leaching were taken at different time intervals. Flotation was carried out bacterially and chemically after different time of exposure of bacteria to reagents or flotation pulp. The result of the thesis is to evaluate which of these methods is the most effective recovery of copper. It is also noted that had leached feedstock pretreatment roasting effect on the final yield of copper. For this dissertation samples were used copper slag from the Slovak Kovohuty Krompachy a.s.
