Abstract
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of motivation of employees in organisations. It is divided into two main parts; the first of which lays the theoretical base, focusing on the most commonly-known motivation theories and methods of rewarding employees. The theory from the first part formed the basis for the second, practical, one, talking about the Hotel Imperial in Ostrava and its employees. The goal of the thesis was to find out how the hotel’s employees are motivated to perform better at work and whether they are satisfied with the hotel’s motivation scheme. Possible solutions for the problems found were suggested. The practical part was based on interviews with employees and management of the hotel, on a questionaire survey, and an analysis of internal hotel documents. Introduction, summary, list of used sources and other common parts of scientific works are included, as well as charts and graphs, which complete the second part.
