Vliv vybraných fiskálních opatření na cenovou hladinu ČR

Abstract

This thesis attends to not very monitored topic which is the influence of fiscal policy on the price level. The aim of the thesis is to describe the influences of selected fiscal measure and their impact on the price level in the Czech Republic based on its past development. The thesis is divided into three main chapters except the introduction and the conclusion. In the first chapter there is characterized the fiscal policy, its features, objectives and instruments which are used to achieve its aims. At the end of the chapter there are given the effects of the stabilizing fiscal policy and a fiscal policy multipliers. The second chapter is devoted to the price level and the role which the fiscal policy has got in its determination. Firstly there is described the price level including methods of its fixing. The second part of the chapter contains a description of the channels throughout which the Government can influence the level of prices. The aggregate demand, the fiscal theory of the price level, the interest rate and also the prices of wages belong into the channels that are described. The last chapter deals with the analysis of selected fiscal measures and their impact on the price level in the Czech Republic. The chapter starts by the development of the price level since 1990 and a brief description of the factors which have influenced its development. In consequence there is examined development of indirect taxes, prices of wages and their influence on the price level. The chapter ends with a summary of the findings made the links between fiscal measures and the price level.
