Abstract
At the department 470 of VŠB -- Technical University of Ostrava, a contact problems are solved by minimalization of quadratic functional with equality constraints and inequality constraints in a special form. The problem arises at the case when the material is nonlinear and when the matrix of solved system isn't positive definite in increment counting. One of the possible ways is to reformulate minimalization problem into problem of solving nonlinearity system and rewrite inequality constraints to equality constraints containing non-smooth functions. Thus rewritten problem could be solved by semismooth Newton method. In this case, linearizations (derivations) of stiffness matrix and contact matrices are required. Our goal is to implementat semismooth Newton method to MatSol library, which is being developed at the department 470 and to compare results with the existing benchmarks.
