Abstract

The diploma thesis deals with usage of insulating material as structural insulation of ladles in steel production. The aim of my work was economic evaluation of the effect of adding of high-quality insulating layer into the ladle lining in ArcelorMittal Ostrava a. s. The thesis is divided into 5 chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, in the second chapter there is a description of various kinds of insulating materials. In the third chapter I deal with the description of ladles focusing on the lining composition with incorporation of insulating layer between permanent lining and ladle shell. Content of the fourth chapter is the economic evaluation of the use of the proposed ladle structural insulation in terms of steel production in ArcelorMittal Ostrava a. s. The last chapter is the conclusion, which summarizes the results of the work.
