Abstract

The thesis aims to analyze a contemporary economic crisis from perspective of the Austrian School, a validation of the Austrian business cycle theory and its comparision with selected economic trends and schools in opinions on the contemporary crisis. The first part describes a business cycle and an economic view of the selected schools and trends on the business cycle theory. Definitely, it is concerned on Keynesianism – Neo-Keynesianism, Post-Keynesianism, the New Keynesian economics; the Chicago school and Monetarism, the New Classical Macroeconomics and the Real Business Cycle school. The second part considers the Austrian business cycle theory. The third part analyzes a contemporary economic crisis, the view of the Austrian School, validation of the Austrian business cycle theory and comparison with the other selected schools and trends in the opinion on the contemporary crisis.
