Abstract
This thesis is concerned with the importance of dead wood for presence of land snails assemblages in production forests.
The sampling areas, where the collecting took place, are situated among villages Loučeň, Mcely and Jabkenice, on the area called Svatojiřský les. Nearby is situated The Čtvrtě National Natural Reserve and at close quarters lies The Jabkenická obora preserve. For my thesis, I chose six sampling areas in this locality: three sampling areas forestry well-maintained, and the another three, where the lying dead putrefying wood is situated.
There are presented the collecting methods of land snails and results evaluation in the thesis. The aim of this thesis is to compare species structure of malacocenosis in sampling forestry well-maintained areas with near areas, where a dead wood is left in different stages of decomposition.
On the sampling areas, there were found 56 land snails. It represents 14 species of seven ecological categories, from which one species is near threatened and the others are least concerned. It appears from the results that the sampling areas with the dead wood are considerably more varied.
