The Medical Center - Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning HVAC

Abstract

RICHTAR, Jan. The Medical Center - Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning HVAC. Ostrava, 2024, VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, Faculty of Civil Engineering, department of Building Environment and HVAC. The main objective of this thesis is to develop an efficient HVAC system that meets the specific needs of a healthcare facility, ensuring optimal air quality, temperature control, and energy efficiency. The thesis is structured into two primary sections. The first section focuses on the project documentation for the Medical Center, adhering to current standards and regulations. The second section addresses the design and implementation of the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system. The design of the building envelope is specifically optimized to reduce heating costs and minimize heat loss. The medical center uses three heat pumps as its source of heat for heating purposes and three separate cooling units for cooling. Part of the thesis involves the development of project documentation for the medical center, including detailed drawing documentation and a technical report.
