Abstract

This thesis aims to the issue of protection of transmission system lines regarding ensuring reliable supply of electricity. The line protection of the transmission system must be properly de-signed and set so that in case of failure, the fault can always be located quickly and accurately, and the affected part of the line is subsequently disconnected. The thesis focuses on the analysis and calculation of the parameters of the high voltage line, a general description of the protection func-tion and the calculation of the parameters for setting the REL670 protection, used as the 1st line distance protection in the configuration for transmission lines in the Czech Republic.
