Abstract

In this thesis a surface plasmon resonance phenomenon is used to measure the refracive index and the concentration of ethanol dissolved in water. The surface plasmon resonance phenomenon is studied in the Kretschmann configuration. The thesis deals with the theoretical model of experiment. Measurement of the spectral dependence of both the reflectance and the interference phase is described in the experimental part. Next, a windowed Fourier transform is used to process experimental data.
