Abstract
The first theme of my work is impact of running coal-mine activities in the Ostrava-Karvina
Coalfield (OKR), manifested on the selected parts of hydrosphere. I follow the impact of active mining on hydrosphere in terms of quantity, i.e. changes of pressure conditions of aquifers and their influence on the groundwater levels. The main topic of interest is the risk to the surface of terrain in relation to the underground water, whose level declines closer to the ground surface or above the surface due to its subsidence. The goal of my work is to interpret relations and factors, which determine changes of water-system, and divide the OKRarea into parts depending on the level of risk to the surface. I also discuss the influence of
dewatering of mines to the deep hydrogeological structure of gasified water body – the basal
clastics of the Lower Badenian, detritus in Czech mining terminology.
After the coal-mines closure in the OKR and stabilization of the terrain, there would be necessary to solve another problem – environmental risks and impacts associated with the rebound process into the abandoned mines. The mine water level rising up into
the flooded abandoned mines can interact with surface hydrosphere. This problem is the second theme of my work.
