Abstract

This bachelor thesis is written upon an offer from ČESKOMORAVSKÝ ŠTĚRK, a.s. company, Olbramovice plant. The main goal of the thesis is to suggest a way for selective extraction in Olbramovice quarry with respect to variable resistance of the extracted aggregate to polishing. In the first part, it provides fundamental data about ČESKOMORAVSKÝ ŠTĚRK, a.s and its quarry in Oblramovice and depicts the geological and hydro-geological situation in the area. Secondly, it focuses on current extraction, transportation and preparation processes. The third part explains the parameters of the aggregate’s resistance to polishing action, the methods of testing and the results of such tests and their variability. Finally, the thesis suggests future steps, conditions allowing for selective extraction of the aggregate and its preparation, it examines the test results of the aggregate products under the proposed selective extraction and outlines economic and environmental benefits to the producer and the community.
