Alternativní softwarová řešení pro měření pomocí hardwarových komponent od NI

Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis deals with the problem of signal measurement and processing using hardware components from National Instruments. The aim of the thesis was to design and implement an alternative software solution for data acquisition in the Python programming language and to com- pare its properties with the standard LabVIEW environment. Within the thesis, an application was developed that enables signal generation and measurement using NI hardware. The functionality was verified by measuring an ECG signal at different sampling frequencies and configurations. The measured data were evaluated using statistical metrics and analyzed in terms of accuracy, timing stability, and data size. The results showed that the Python solution achieves comparable signal quality to LabVIEW, but exhibits lower timing accuracy. It was also demonstrated that increas- ing the sampling frequency does not necessarily improve measurement quality and that the TDMS format is more efficient in terms of data size. The thesis confirms that Python can represent a suitable alternative to LabVIEW for measurement applications, especially in cases where flexibility and customization are required.
