Analýza návštěvnosti Baťova kanálu od roku 1995

Abstract

Canal transport offers a number of various interesting ways to discover new destinations, increases their appeal to tourists and positively reflects on realization and providing of services. Time spent around and on the water ways is a unique experience and as such the Bat’a Canal attracts higher number of tourists every year. The main goal of this paper is to offer an analysis of attendance of the Bat’a Canal from 1995 till present. Annual attendance index will be evaluated and it will be demonstrated why this index increased or decreased in any given year. Incompleteness and inconsistency of data have proved to be a serious problem. Therefore, only those types of data which were reasonably accessible and relevant were processed, and I have drawn my conclusions exclusively on these data. First part of this paper describes the Bat’a Canal in detail, starting with its location, cruises, then its history and, finally, the present of Bat’a Canal. Further on I will investigate possible types of cruises and transport, slipways or how to get waterborne on the Canal, curiosities and spectacles on the Canal’s routes, also what kinds of ships are used, etc. The second part deals with the actual attendance analysis of the Bat’a Canal from 1995, results of which are available to local businesses.
