Abstract
The bachelor's thesis deals with the cold rolling of aluminium alloy EN AW-8011. The theoretical part deals with aluminium production, chemical and mechanical properties of aluminium and its alloys, casting and forming of aluminium and its alloys and characterisation of aluminium alloys. The chapter on forming mainly deals with cold rolling. In terms of aluminium alloys, it describes selected Al 99.5%, Al-Cu and Al-Zn alloys.
The practical part deals with the specific alloy EN AW-8011, its preparation process and testing the effect of rolling on its properties and microstructure. Mechanical properties such as strength and hardness, phase-etched and grain-etched microstructure were evaluated using optical or scanning electron microscopy with EDX microanalysis to determine the chemical composition of the phases. The discussion and conclusion are devoted to a summary of the results and comparison with theoretical assumptions.
