Abstract

This thesis deals with the imaging of animals in human history, from prehistory to the art of the Celts and Germans. The theoretical part is focused on the symbolism and importance of displaying of various animal species from which the most attention is devoted to an elephant. Also, this section deals with animal symbols of the gods. The practical part is focused on the design and implementation of animal sculptures. The description of technical procedures in the production of molds and subsequent mold making are also included in the thesis.
