Abstract
In aerospace industry, ceramic coatings are applied on a high-temperature heat resistant materials mainly for the thermal protection of basic material. These are components, such as blades combustion engines, internal combustion chamber walls, or exhaust gas rectifiers from engine, which are long exposed to elevated temperatures and the Earth's atmosphere.
Due to the different high-temperature behavior of basic metal materials and ceramic coatings, a number of standardized and specialized tests has to be performed during construction of new parts or introduction of new materials. These tests are used not only to confirm the suitability of used materials and their combination, but also to choose technology how coating will be applied on basic material.
TBC (Thermal Barrier Coating), which this work is devoted to, is YZr oxide coating with a coherent metal non-oxide interlayer based on NiCrAlY, applied by plasma torch to superalloy of type 54Ni22Cr12,5Co9Mo1,2Al.
