Abstract

The content of this work is the e-Government of the Czech Republic. The first chapter explains what is e-Government and what parts are composed. Then describes historical development of e-Government since 1991 including its legislative definitions. Part of this chapter is also characteristic of individual parts of e-Government – basic registers, Czech POINT and data boxes. The second chapters explains the public administrations, state and local governments. Then defines competence of municipalities, characteristic of chosen municipality including its institutions and organizational structure. The last chapter deals the using of data boxes at the municipal district of Ostrava Mariánské Hory a Hulváky. The results of the work is the evaluate of using data boxes at the municipal district with suggestions and recommendations for more effective using of data boxes at the Municipal Office of Ostrava Mariánské Hory a Hulváky.
