Abstract

The topic of this diploma work is an urban and architectonic drawing of the new building of “Center of Modern Art” for Ostrava town – regional art center with varied offer of different exhibitions and cultural activities. The projects deals with wider relations of given area and searching for the most suitable usage of a certain place based on analysis, details and a present need of this town. It describes the overall development of the construction in terms of accessibility, disposition, proportion and aesthetics. New object will be integrated into existing built up area and will create the functional unit in the town. Design of the property should match up to modern demands for a building of the 21st century and currently respect economical demands. It should be adequate in size with usage of modern materials and energy saving. The main purpose is to connect it with cultural artistic centre of Černá louka and locality of new KarolIna.
