Ovlivnění kvality povrchu a zabíhavosti litinových odlitků s využitím slévárenských nátěrů

Abstract

The aim of this master's thesis is to investigate the effect of foundry coatings on the surface finish and quality of cast iron castings. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on green sand moulding mixtures, cast irons for castings, properties of foundry coatings and their refractory materials and parameters that can be measured in foundry coatings. The experimental part of the thesis is focused on the production of cast iron castings in green sand moulding mixtures with coatings supplied by FOSECO (foundry division of Vesuvius PLC) and their effect on the castability, surface roughness and general surface quality.
