Abstract

This theses deal with chemical heat treatment of hypo eutectoid steel accordingly to technological procedures for special gears production. The theoretical part describes the chemical heat treatment and quenching with tempering of the steel which are necessary processes to achieve desirable properties of gears. The practical part describes the technological process of heat treatment, the influence of alloying elements of the steel and summarizes the results of metallographic examinations and mechanical properties. Based on the assessment of metallographic microstructure, the technological procedure had been modified and in relation to the modification of production facilities, it is assumed that there will be elimination of some factors which cause the formation of undesirable microstructures.
