Abstract

The presented bachelor thesis deals with current trends in research of toxic substances produced by cyanobacteria. The thesis describes acquired knowledge so far about the purpose of the toxins produced for cyanobacteria itself. Under what circumstances toxins affect their environment, including living organisms. Possibility of their use in biotechnology. The document is generally characterized by cyanobacteria, where they occur, their significance and impact on the environment. The document further features possible techniques to prevent mass of cyanobacteria and describe the valid legislation.
