The main goal of this paper is to evaluate the success of educational programs financed by the European Social Fund in the Czech Republic - specifically in the Moravian-Silesian region. The second chapter deals with the definition of Cohesion Policy. In addition, the chapter explains the territorial division of the Czech Republic according to European standards, the financial framework, strategic documents and tools used by the Cohesion Policy. The third chapter is focused on the analysis of the Czech population education. Further it compares the competitiveness of the European Union and the Czech Republic in the world-wide measures. As last, the chapter explains the role of the European Social Fund in matter of education support in the Czech Republic focusing on the Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness. The fourth chapter is the practical part and is focused on the evaluation of specific educational projects.
