The aime of this thesis is focused on getting acquainted with zinc, its occurrence in nature, extraction, processing and recycling. For this reason it is impossible to ingnore its impact on the environment. From a closer perspective, here we focus on its use in industry, especially in the protection of metals against corrosion using hot dip zinc galvanizing technology, specifically in The Zinkpower Company Kopf Group Roudnice nad Labem
