Zhodnocení kvality vody Hlučínské štěrkovny: roční monitoring

Abstract

This bachelor’s thesis examines the water quality of the Hlučín gravel pit through year-round monitoring and places the results in the context of the 2024 flood event. Monitoring was conducted at three sampling sites, including a reservoir and an adjacent watercourse, from February 2025 to February 2026. Selected physicochemical, biological, and microbiological indicators of water quality were determined in the samples. Based on the results, the impact of the flood event on water quality was observed, reflected in increased nutrient concentrations in the water and the associated increase in phytoplankton biomass and cyanobacterial growth compared to previous swimming seasons. However, this impact was not of a fundamental nature and did not lead to a significant disruption of the reservoir’s ecological stability or to a significant limitation of its recreational function.
