Abstract
TULACH, A. Experimental and Mathematical Methods of Modeling of Flammable Mixtures Propagation in Space. Ostrava: VŠB-TU Ostrava, 2020. 94 pp.
This dissertation thesis deals with experimental and mathematical methods for modeling the propagation of flammable gases in space, based on the study of propagation of flammable gases in closed spaces after leakage, and the study of formation of local dangerous and explosive concentrations. Part of the thesis is dedicated to the description of the current gas fuel situation, to the theoretical basis of gas flow with possible combustion modeling and to the method of numerical simulation. A set of mathematical models was created with consideration of turbulence and numerical parameters. The models were subsequently verified with experimental measurements. The practical usage of CFD simulations made it possible to ascertain and describe the ongoing physical processes related to the formation of local concentrations of combustible gases in more detail, and to study explosions of gaseous explosive mixtures as part of the internal grants in the doctoral study program.
