Abstract

The thesis deals with the issue of nanoparticles and their formation during stone processing. The aim of the thesis is to verify the possibility of exposure to particles in the working air of workers in a particular company. The first part of the thesis deals with a basic introduction to the issue of nanoparticles, their occurrence and distribution, focusing on the risks arising from exposure to these particles. In the experimental part, the enterprise selected for the purpose of this thesis is presented. In addition to the actual measurement of nanoparticle concentrations, the thesis also includes toxicity tests of granite dust on white mustard seeds (Sinapis alba L.). The results of the measurements are always given at the end of each chapter. The last subject of the thesis is the evaluation of the OSH situation in the company from the perspective of nanoparticles, including the proposal of possible risk reduction measures.
