Abstract
The aim of this work is to test selected XML database systems efficiency and its mutual comparison from effects of providing XQuery queries in points of view. Testing will be providing with focus on time of execution of particular queries and number of disk accesses. There are namely these database systems MonetDB, Timber, Sedna and X-Hive, which implement rich part of W3C group recommendations.
The content of work is to install and set into service these four XML database systems, then study of XQuery 1.0 language and creation of pack about fifty queries, which will cover various aspects of this language.
To programming part belongs the implementation of simple client, which allows quering the queries over these XML servers.
The center of work consists of testing the XML database systems with using of kit XQuery queries and its evaluation.
