Abstract

Modern vehicles are equipped with many sensors which follow behavior of different parts of the vehicle. These sensors can be used for a real-time detection of current road conditions and this information can be sent to other motorists. This thesis introduces a development of a Car-to-Server in-vehicle module which collects and aggregates data from vehicle sensors according to server requirements, and passes a message about detected conditions out of the vehicle back to the server with a minimal data transmission. Selection and development of event generators, which transform raw data to an event, is the second part of this thesis. At the beginning analysis of vehicle sensors, which are necessary for successful detection, is done. It is followed by a detailed description of a detection principle. In the next section a module is tested on real traffic data and results are presented and discussed.
