Abstract

In theoretical part of this diploma thesis there are summarized β titanium alloys characteristics, comparison of technical parameters and requirements for properties and their applications. The effects of composition and heat treatment on microstructure and mechanical properties were discussed in detail. Also the possibility and effects of temporary hydrogen alloying of these alloys were also discussed. In the experimental part of this work, samples of Ti-22 at.% Nb and Ti-25 at.% Nb were treated by the different regimes of heat treatment in argon or hydrogen atmospheres. The measurement of microhardness, EDS analysis of composition and the heat compression test were performed. Based on experimental results, the influence of microstructure on mechanical properties of alloys with different compositions and heat treatment was evaluated.
