dc.description.abstract-enA calculation method has been evolved for analyzing the unstable deformation of hot tensile test specimens at the stability limit. Numerical solution of a differential equation permits computation of the shape of the specimen neck, of the distribution of transversal deformations along the specimen length, and of the state of stress in the neck. It has been confirmed that all of these quantities are strongly dependent on the presence or absence of dynamic recrystallization processes.en
