Abstract
The main aim of the bachelor thesis is comparison of Social Security and Support to Families with Children within Family Policy. In this thesis the selected European Union countries are compared, namely Sweden, Germany, Great Britain, Italy and the Czech Republic. The secondary aim is comparison of social models applied in individual countries, comparison of social security pillars, forms of family support and fertility in the selected countries.
The comparison showed that the highest familly support is provided by family policy of Sweden and Germany, the lowest family policy of Italy. The Scandinavian model is the most supportive of social models, the Anglo-Saxon and Mediterranean models support families with children lower than other models. Family benefits are most often implemented through a combination of social insurance and a different pillar, which is different in each country. Social security most often consists of benefits. The highest fertility rate is in Sweden, the smallest in Italy.
