Abstract

This thesis deals with the development and comparison of the results of several classification models based on the artificial neural networks (ANN) principle. The aim of the thesis is the application of the most appropriate ANN model in the IT resource management process, in a technology firm providing complex services to customers with offices worldwide. In the thesis, current state within the organization, the available data and the cost shifting process is analyzed. Subsequently, ANN models were designed and developed, and critically evaluated against multiple metrics to select the most appropriate ANN implementation, to be further used in the IT resource management process. The thesis concludes with a discussion of the results and insights obtained from the design and implementation of ANNs, and the overall assessment of thesis objectives.
