Modelování ledvinových kamenů z UZV obrazů

Abstract

The topic of this thesis was kidney stones and their segmentation on ultrasound images. The aim of this work was to design and test an algorithm for the creation of kidney stone model. The key to the thesis was to study the anatomical, pathological and physiological aspects of kidney function, the methods used for kidney stone imaging and, last but not least, the image processing methods that were necessary for optimal results - ie, multi-regional segmentation methods and segmentation using active contours to create the final kidney stone model. The overall evaluation was then based on the extracted parameters from the model – area, perimeter, length of major and minor axis.
