Abstract
The present work is focused on the basic process of water treatment - the coagulation. In the first chapter the surface water is discussed and its physico-chemical properties. Further the drinking water requirements are specified. In the next chapter the basic processes of water treatment are described with a focus on the studied locality of the Water Treatment Plant in Vítkov Podhradí. Also the Water Treatment Plant in Vítkov Podhradí is described in detail in the next chapter.
The experimental part describes the methodology of the tests and the analytical methods which were used for processing and the evaluation results. The aim of experimental part was to optimize the coagulation process in terms of coagulant doses, the temperature properties and the type of mixing. The optimization took place with the measurement of the zeta potential.
