Abstract
This bachelor’s thesis addresses the issue of power supply outages and their impacts on the operation of social care facilities in the Czech Republic. The focus is primarily on residential social facilities, which are critically dependent on uninterrupted electricity supply to ensure care for vulnerable population groups. The thesis analyzes the current legislative, organizational, and technical approaches to managing the consequences of power outages in the Czech Republic and compares them with selected international practices. The work includes an overview of types of social care facilities, a classification of power outages, and an identification of key risk factors. Based on the evaluation of the findings, a possible systemic approach aimed at increasing the preparedness and resilience of social care facilities to long-term power outages is proposed.
