Abstract

Diploma thesis „ EGTC and its consequence for cross-border cooperation” focuses on relatively young, unexplored issue. This problematic arouses great interest in the field of science and public nowadays. Thesis is one of the first attempts of its type and because of this reason is based more on primary resources and personal dialogs compared to secondary sources and literature. Firstly deals with anchoring basic key-terms of regional policy and description of historical context. Then, attempts to focus on legislative connected to EGTC, current situation of EGTC in Europe and ČR. Abroad experiences will create the backbone of next chapter, which will offer us a variety of implementation approaches to EGTC in national states. Proper view is targeted on Moravian-Silesian region and its czech-polish cooperation initiatives leading to forming of new EGTC-TRITIA and other important regions. Goal of the thesis is an attempt to reach more exact description of EGTC. Acknowledgement with EGTC is rather weak, even in involved circles. Next staked quest is comparison of pros and cons of EGTC compared to older platforms of cross border cooperation (euroregions etc.). These tasks will frame the nucleus of thesis. Author will provide his own opinion and reference according to the expected development in conclusion.
