Abstract
Presented thesis deals with the complex study of changes in mechanical properties and steel microstructures after artificial or strain aging. Results are compared with starting materials state. Two medium carbon steels, which are used for making of mine support profiles, are studied in the thesis. Steel 31Mn4 is in as rolled state and the other 12 130 steel is heat treated by quenching and subsequent tempering. Changes in mechanical properties obtained from tensile tests, the Charpy impact test and Vickers hardness measurements are studied in these steels. Attention is also payed to microstructure changes and in selected samples microfractographic analysis is carried out.
