Abstract

In its theoretical part, the thesis titled "Efficiency Improvement of Logistics Flows within Production Line" deals with problems of production logistics and methods for analysis and improvement of logistics flows. The terms “lean enterprise”, “lean manufacturing tools”, “method of implementation of DMAIC changes” and “method of Value Stream Mapping (VSM)” are defined. The practical part of this work was carried out in the company DURA Automotive Systems Ltd. in order to analyze, propose and to partly implement the efficiency improvement of logistics flows in the Primary of LDC (Light Duty Cables) with the help of the above-mentioned DMAIC method. The thesis deals specifically with reduction and optimization of reserves in individual production phases, with reduction of downtime and work in process and with ways to get smoother material flow and more efficient control system through new settings of kanban systems.
