Abstract

This bachelor thesis deals with both surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and guided mode resonance (GMR) phenomena. First, a theoretical analysis is performed for a multilayer substrate-gold-photoresist structure in the Kretschmann configuration. Then, the spectral dependences of the reflectances s and p polarized waves are expressed for different refractive indices. Furthermore, an experiment demonstrating the use of GMR in measuring the response of a given structure to changes in relative humidity is designed and implemented.
