Aproximace geoprostorových objektů v prostorových databázích

Abstract

The goal of this thesis was to investigate and implement some of the existing method of geospatial object approximation in spatial databases, evaluate their properties and compare them. Approximation is a commonly used approach to indexing of complex geospatial objects in spatial database systems. Depending on the properties, different kinds of approximations are used. This thesis includes the creation of a library project including implementation of approximations in the C++ programming language and a console application in the C# programming language, which will test the selected approximation methods on various polygons and evaluates their relevant properties depending on the type of the indexing structure, which will allow further analysis.
