Abstract
This diploma thesis examines Sentinel-2 satellite and focuses on its use for mapping of fires and evaluation of its seriousness in Karlovy Vary region, between 2016 and 2018. The theoretical part studies the method of remote earth sensing. Furthermore, it introdu-ces a Copernicus program and the Sentinel-2 satellite with its multispectral image data as the basis for the subsequent fire analysis. In the practical part, model areas of extensive fires are chosen. Also, a selection of multispectral data is explained. The procedure of identification and analysis of consequences of extensive fires are thoroughly depicted on an exemplary fire. Data evaluation is documented in shape of themed maps. Gathe-red results are put into comparison with data statistics of monitoring of events in fire prevention.
