Abstract

Submitted dissertation is related to a study of physical and physical-chemical properties of the quartz sample from the area of Dolní Bory for the purposes of its possible treatment. In dissertation introduction there are discussed general problems of electro-kinetic and other interphase characteristics of the phase substance-liquid. This part analyses the problems of electro-kinetic effects, i.e. theoretical aspects of the electro-kinetic potential generation and impact of the electrolytes sorption on the configuration of the double electric layer. The principal options of electro-kinetic potential measuring are clarified here. The electrophoresis method is analyzed in detail, which was accepted as the measuring method (measuring device Zetametr Nano used from company Malvern Instruments). Focus of dissertation experimental content consists of individual electrochemical and physical-chemical measuring of the venous quartz sample -SiO2 from Dolní Bory locality under preselected conditions (pH change, electrolytes additives - FeCl3, AlCl3, K2SO4, Na3PO4, CaCl2). Reference sample for specific measuring was the sample of Brazil quartz. Obtained dependencies are evaluated in tables and graphs, which serve as the source documents for the formulation of partial technological conclusions. Dissertation contains other measured (compatible) physical-chemical characteristics of the phase substance-liquid. There is used measuring method of the wetting angle and wetting heat in high-sensitive micro-calorimeter. Results obtained from the measuring are discussed in separate conclusions, also in relation to further possible treatment of venous quartz using the flotation method.
