Abstract

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe and evaluate different methods used to deal with an adverse situation of a company and to analyze the use of these methods in the Czech Republic since the introduction of the insolvency law until the present day. In this thesis, concepts of the insolvency law are described; from the process of insolvency proceedings to the characteristics of methods used to solve insolvency or threatening insolvency of a company. Specifically, these methods described are bankruptcy and reorganization. Application of both methods in practice is evaluated and analyzed. Liquidation of a company is described in this thesis as well; a method that can be applied to a company in an adverse situation as well as to a healthy company that is supposed to go out of business. This thesis can be used by legal personalities for orientation in the insolvency law.
