Abstract

In this bachelor thesis, information is collected on the titanium element and the principle of melting in the cold crucible titanium (ISM). The thesis is divided into four main chapters. The first part deals with the titanium element, which describes the basic properties of this element and the distribution of types of titanium alloys. The second part focuses on methods of titanium production. In the third part, the ISM process is discussed, and there is proposed a possible design solution for this process. The fourth part is focused on producers, titanium alloys in practice and ISM process evaluation, which compares the advantages and disadvantages of using this process. In conclusion, an overall assessment of the acquired knowledge was made.
